Over the past few years opinion has been voiced on whether or not to lease vehicles, and whilst traditionalists still like to own the asset many more fleet managers are moving to leasing.


Leasing has financial benefits: The big fleet suppliers have huge purchasing power and can pass that saving on to you the end user. It opens up a new line of credit, leaving traditional lending facilities free to be used elsewhere in the business. Leasing also helps smooth cashflow by allowing vat to be paid monthly rather than all up front. lastly why would you want to tie your capital up in a depreciating asset, rather than putting it to work in the business, earning profits.

Theres a big change upcoming on what Road Fund Licence we all pay on NEW CARS REGISTERED AFTER APRIL 1 2017


The present road tax regime was set to tax higher CO2 cars harder than low CO2 cars. Now with the advent of sub 100g/km cars, plus electric, hybrid and hydrogen motive power the Government has seen a big drop in income and have (unsurprisingly) decided to do something about it.


From April 1st ALL cars will be taxed when first registered according to their CO2 emissions. Thereafter ALL CARS up to a retail value of £40000 will be taxed @ £140 a year. Cars over £40k will be paying a supplement.


None of this affects cars registered before 1st April2017. Heres a couple of examples:
